Oracle Student Solution update
Customer Relationship Manager module added to project timeline
The LASER executive leadership has agreed to a change in scope for the LASER project. Approval has been given to proceed with implementing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Advanced
Recruiting within the next several months. CRM is a module that runs separately
from the student system but communicates very closely with the application.
It will be the first module on the student side to be implemented, and will
help to improve K-State's recruiting strategies and services. The exact timeframe
is still to be determined, with the impact on the LASER OSS module implementations
being reviewed as necessary.

Buffalo State College is one of the few higher education institutions that has
recently implemented OSS, with the enrollment and faculty grading modules running.
They are planning on launching the admissions module this fall.
In addition to K-State's LASER team, representatives from eight other schools attended the 3-day conference to share experiences thus far with their respective OSS projects, and to hear about lessons learned during Buffalo State's implementation. Several K-State personnel facilitated panel discussions on topics such as handling third-party software with the OSS and using electronic waitlists.
